Ukraine War Live was built in a single working session as a test of how far Claude can take a software project on its own — designing the architecture, writing every line, deploying the workers, wiring up DNS, debugging the live system, and iterating on feedback — with a human only steering and approving. The whole thing runs on free infrastructure; the only fixed running cost is the $15/year domain (as of August 2026). A Claude subscription, used to build and maintain the site, is the other part of the upkeep.
It is also a real project, not just a demo. It is an automated, serverless OSINT map of the Russia–Ukraine war, modelled on iranwarlive.com: news feeds in, machine-extracted events out, plotted on a map with the current front line, refreshed every two hours with no human in the loop. The full technical write-up is on the How it's built page, and the extraction and confidence rules are on the Methodology page.
Not affiliated with any government, military, news organisation, or advocacy group. No ads, no cookies, no third-party trackers. Every event is an automated reading of a public news headline and is unverified; casualty figures are numbers announced by one side (Ukraine or Russia), not confirmed tolls. Treat it as a lead, not a fact.
